Aquatera Utilities is hoping to move forward with the construction of a new lift station for Clairmont, with some funding support from the County and local developers.
CEO Bernd Manz says the lack of an adequate lift station in Clairmont is one of the major impediments to the hamlet’s potential growth.
“Because Clairmont is lower than the lagoon, all of the sewage has to be lifted and pumped there, and the existing stations that are older and smaller and can no longer accommodate the level of growth that’s occurring.”
Manz says they are looking to share the $12M cost of the project three ways, between Aquatera, the County, and local developers.
