A third Canadian arrested in China is likely not connected to Huawei retaliation.
Justin Trudeau says the arrest was not linked to national security concerns. Alberta’s Sarah McIver was reportedly detained because of an issue with her Visa. Two men with connections to Ottawa were detained in China earlier this month after the arrest of Huawei’s CFO.

Proposed lawsuit takes aim at Alberta Government over forced sterilization

Alberta is now targeted in a lawsuit on behalf of Indigenous victims of forced sterilization.
The $500 million proposed class action lawsuit claims government officials were aware of forced sterilization practices in the province. The proposed lawsuit follows a similar one representing Indigenous women in Saskatchewan.
