Okabe to play in CJHL Prospects Game

The Grande Prairie Storm’s leading goalscorer will get to show his stuff in front of scouts from all over the hockey world. Zachary Okabe has been selected to play in the upcoming Canadian Junior Hockey League Prospects Game.

The right wing will play on Team West, which is made up of some of the best players from the junior hockey leagues in B.C., Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Everyone taking part was selected by NHL Central Scouting and is among the top 40 CJHL prospects heading into the 2019 NHL Draft.

Okabe joined the Storm last season, quickly committed to an NCAA school, and was named the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Rookie of the Year. This season, the 17-year-old has 19 goals and 18 assists in 36 games.

The prospects game will be held January 22, 2019 in Okotoks.
