Police looking for suspect in fatal hit and run west of Valleyview

Valleyview RCMP is investigating a fatal hit and run that happened on the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation just before midnight.

Police say they were called to the scene about 2 km south of the Calais store on Highway 43 at 11:55 pm last night.

A 22 year old woman from Sturgeon Lake was found lying in the north bound lane of 69 Road, her name is not being released.

RCMP say they believe she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Anyone who may be able to help identify the driver or vehicle responsible is asked to contact Valleyview RCMP (780-524-3345) or Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477).
