New family to Grande Prairie honoured with inaugural award

The first ever New Family of the Year has been announced.

The French family was recognized in a ceremony at Bear Creek Golf Course, to which they’ve won a family membership for the year.

Marianne French, along with her husband Richard and daughters Denise and Hanna, moved to Grande Prairie in the spring.

As the front desk clerk at the Regional Tourism Association, Marianna is often the first person tourists meet when they visit.

The family’s name is now on the Centennial boulder in front of the clubhouse, and will end up on a plaque inside.

The inaugural award will see a new family to town chosen each year.
