Several local high schools win medals at volleyball provincials

Grande Prairie was well represented at the 3A and 4A volleyball provincials this year. Four local high school teams brought home medals at this year’s events which ran from November 22nd to 24th.

First in 3A action, both the Peace Wapiti Academy boys and girls volleyball teams took home silver medals in their matches. The boys ultimately lost to Barrhead Composite High school in Rocky Mountain House. The girls lost to Cochrane High school at their game in Beaverlodge.

St. Joseph High School in Grande Prairie also took home a bronze medal at 3A.

At the 4A tournament that took place in Grande Prairie, host club Charles Spencer Maverick’s girls’ team took home a bronze after beating Jasper Place. The school’s senior boys’ team placed 10th in the tournament overall.

The senior girls 3A tournament was held at Beaverlodge Regional High school and the boys and girls 4A volleyball provincials were held at Charles Spencer High school in Grande Prairie.
