Dawson Creek store robbed of $80K worth of jewelry

Mounties in Dawson Creek are looking for people suspected of stealing $80,000 worth of jewellery from a Dawson Creek store. RCMP says the thieves managed to break into the Dawson Creek Mall around 3:43 a.m. on Thursday, and then set off the alarm at Gold Brick Jewellers.

Police say on top of the jewellery, an undisclosed amount of cash was also taken. Officers reportedly found a vehicle with pieces of jewellery inside that looked abandoned nearby, along with what’s claimed to be evidence.

Based on tracking by Police Dog Services, it’s believed the suspects got into another vehicle at some point. Surveillance cameras caught people who are believed to be responsible, and anyone with information on them or the heist is asked to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
