The city parks department has gotten started with it’s seasonal tree maintenance.
The province does not allow the pruning of elm trees between April and September to prevent the spread of Dutch Elm Disease, so that work has getting started.
Crews are also pruning branches and shrubs in back alleys that encroach onto city property.
Homeowners will not be charged for any of that maintenance.
