Housing starts for multiple family home in Grande Prairie last month were 16 times the amount of multiple home starts in September of last year.
2013 saw just 10 starts; this year 160.
Single family home starts are up as well, though not so dramatically, with just 6 homes started this past September than last year.
Year to date, overall housing starts in Grande Prairie are up 18 per cent, from 444 by this time last year, to 524 in 2014.
