Eskimos Alumni to speak at this year's Breakfast with the Boys

A yearly event that focuses on educating coaches, athletes, and other community leaders about gender based violence and sexual degradation is just around the corner.

Breakfast with the Boys organizer Mike Anderson says especially in a blue collar town like Grande Prairie, it’s important to raise awareness for those who have predominantly male peers.

“You have a different perspective going into the workplace, and when you’re surrounded with all guys, how what you’re saying collectively may contribute to a bigger problem, because what you’ve done, is you’ve agreed through your workplace that this is a socially acceptable behavior.”

This is the 6th year for Breakfast with the Boys.

This year those in attendance will have an opportunity to hear from Edmonton Eskimos Alumni Larry Wruck.

“Larry Wruck is a part of the Playing to Win program that we’re going to be launching at the breakfast, and he’s done talks on gender based violence and sexual degradation towards women, and about how coaches, athletes, and community leaders can be a part of change.”

Anyone wishing to attend should get in touch with Anderson ([email protected]) in order to register beforehand.
