Crashes on Highway 43 Friday morning have prompted a travel warning from the RCMP. While no injuries have so far been reported in the Whitecourt and Fox Creek area, police ask people not to use the highway unless necessary.
“Roads are slippery in sections and traffic is moving slowly along Highway 43. If you must travel please travel with caution, ensure your headlights are on, reduce speed, and increase following distance.”
The highway is down to one lane westbound at Eagle Tower Road due to one crash. Freezing rain warnings were in effect for the region earlier this morning, but have since ended.
