Doug Marshall passes away at 79

Grande Prairie is mourning the loss of a prominent local businessman. An obituary posted by Oliver’s Funeral Home confirms Doug Marshall passed away at the age of 79 on November 2, 2018.

Marshall moved to Grande Prairie in 1975 and owned Doug Marshall Motor City until 2000. He was also well known for his charitable giving and spent time as President of the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie and on the board of the Grande Prairie Regional College Foundation.

A prayer service will be held Thursday, November 8th at St. Joseph Catholic Church starting at 8:30 p.m. A funeral prayer service will then be held at the church at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 9th. Donations in his memory are asked to be made to the Odyssey House Women’s Shelter.
