Alleged chop shop uncovered south of Peace River

A vehicle chop shop may have been busted in the Girouxville area. Mounties searched a rural property south of Peace River on October 18th and reportedly found a number of stolen vehicles and vehicle parts.

The search warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation by the Western Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit, RCMP Auto Theft Unit, and RCMP detachments in McLennan and Peace River. Three residents of the MD of Smoky River are now facing numerous drug, weapon, and property crime charges.

The drug charges relate to meth, cocaine, and marijuana. All three suspects have since been released to appear in Peace River Provincial Court on November 19th.
