Shooting victim identified as 28 year old Edmonton man

The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Wednesday morning’s shooting victim as 28 year old John William Rock of Edmonton.

RCMP says Rock was a patron on the Canadian Brewhouse before he was shot outside the bar around 1 a.m.

He was found in the parking lot severely injured and later died in hospital.

It’s believed this was not a random act.

No further details have been released.

Edmonton Major Crimes Unit is investigating and wants to speak to anyone who was at the restaurant that night.
