Traffic stop leads to arrest of suspect with stolen vehicle, gun

A Grande Prairie man is facing charges after police say he lied about his identity and had a gun on him in a stolen vehicle. The 22-year-old was pulled over near Shark Club by City Enforcement Services around 5:30 p.m. on October 14th.

The peace officer called for help from RCMP when the man was acting evasive. Police figured out he was lying about who he was, and was in a stolen vehicle with a gun.

The suspect is now facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstructing a peace or police officer, and unauthorized possession of a firearm. He appeared in court on October 17th.
