Second day of record heat in Grande Prairie

For the second day in a row, a weather record has unofficially been broken in Grande Prairie. Environment Canada says the temperature at the local airport reached 21.5 degrees Wednesday, just sneaking by a 76 year old record. Previously, the October 17th record was 21.1 degrees set in 1942.

A record was also unofficially broken on October 17th, when it reached 21.1 degrees. Before that, the record was 19.4 degrees set in 1944. It’s unlikely the city will see any more heat records this week, as the forecast is calling for highs between 11 and 14 degrees for next several days.
