Charges laid after rural police chase

Two people are facing multiple charges after a police chase on October 10th.

The incident started near Webster around 11 a.m., where a suspicious man was reportedly acting erratically around a vehicle stuck in a ditch. Witnesses said he and a woman left the area on a quad, but police weren’t able to stop them.

Both the truck in the ditch and the quad were reported stolen. A short time later, a second truck was reported stolen. When the third vehicle wouldn’t pull over for police, reinforcements from neighbouring towns were called in.

The truck was eventually found by an RCMP helicopter. It hit two police cars before coming to a stop near Bonanza.

In addition to those charges, the man also had over 20 other charges from incidents in Grande Prairie and Beaverlodge dating back to September 30.
