Grande Prairie has hit a record high, and no, it has nothing to do with legalization. The temperature at the local airport reached 21.1 degrees Tuesday, besting the previous October 16th record of 19.4 degrees set in 1944.
It’s possible another record could be set Wednesday. The Environment Canada forecast is calling for a high of 22 degrees. If that happens, it would beat the current October 17th record of 21.1 degrees set in 1942.
Temperatures should cool down for the rest of the week. Forecast highs for the next six days are between 11 and 13 degrees.
