CN looking to discontinue line near Village of Hythe

Canadian National is looking at potentially ending service along a 20 mile stretch from the Village of Hythe to the BC border. That line is known as the Grande Prairie Subdivision.

CN says there hasn’t been very much traffic on that stretch of track since 1997. Because of that, the company does not want to keep paying to maintain it.

Trains will continue to run there for another year as CN works to slowly phase out service.
