Big home game tonight after Storm drop two at AJHL Showcase

The Grande Prairie Storm have returned from what Coach Kevin Higo is calling a “disappointing” weekend at the AJHL Showcase.

While they had chances to be victorious, they ended up dropping both of their games in Spruce Grove.

“Just made some bad mental mistakes that ended up costing us, and we walked away with zero points, when realistically we should have walked away with at least two points that weekend.”

Higo says they’re on a bit of a learning curve as they have players in bigger roles than they’re used to, as well as new positions.

Despite coming away without any points, Coach Higo says there’s still some positives to take away from the outing.

“We competed hard and talked to a lot of college scouts; there were a lot of pro scouts. Major/junior guys, they like our compete level; they like our intensity. It just shows at certain points of the game where we do lack in experience.”

They’re taking on the Drayton Valley Thunder tonight at home at Revolution Area, starting at 7:30.
