Grande Prairie well represented on Education Minister's youth council

Two Grande Prairie high school students have been selected to be a part of the Alberta Minister of Education’s Student Advisory Council.

The two, 17 year old Charles Spencer student Blaine Badiuk and 17 year old Moira Muir, who attends the Grande Prairie Composite High School, are among 27 teenagers from across the province who will sit on the council.

Muir says their first task is to host a forum at their schools.

“So that’s basically a discussion about the education system, how it’s going well and what’s maybe not going so well, and how we can change that. We’re each going to be doing presentations at both of our schools, so the Grande Prairie Public School District is getting a head start, but then we’re hoping to bring it to other schools in the city as well.”
