Vehicle stolen from city found in High Prairie

A vehicle stolen from Grande Prairie has been found in the town of High Prairie.

On September 27, High Prairie RCMP received a call about an abandoned vehicle near town. When police arrived on scene they found people inside. The vehicle then tried to leave the area and almost hit an officer. Police followed the vehicle but the chase was called off a short time later for safety reasons.

A 35-year-old man from Grouard is facing numerous charges including assault on a peace officer with a weapon, dangerous driving, flight from police, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

Police are reminding people to lock their vehicles and make sure no valuables are left inside.
