Sexsmith mayor Claude Lagace passes away

The mayor of Sexsmith has passed away. An obituary published by Oliver’s Funeral Home says Claude Lagace died Saturday September 29, in Grande Prairie at the age of 66 years.

Born in 1952, Lagace was a long-time resident of Sexsmith, and had served as the town’s mayor since 2010. Since word of his death became public, tributes have been pouring in.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be confirmed.
