Celebration of culture and diversity taking place in the city

Locals are being invited to learn about culture and diversity in the province this weekend. There will be over 30 events taking place in Grande Prairie from Friday to Sunday to celebrate Alberta Culture Days.

The three-day festival started Friday morning with a coffee kick-off event at the Provincial Building featuring live performances and art displays. Then on Friday evening, the Heritage Discovery Centre will be unveiling their latest exhibit about sasquatch sightings in Alberta.

On Saturday, the day starts at the Montrose Cultural Centre with a morning yoga session. Multiple events will be running all day long including workshops, presentations and an art show.

The festival ends on Sunday where people will be able to hear speeches from those who have been in residential schools. That event takes place as part of Orange Shirt Day.
