Two charged after money, drugs found in local home

Two Grande Prairie residents are facing charges after drugs and a large amount of cash was found in a home in the city.

On September 14, the Grande Prairie RCMP Drug Unit searched a home and vehicle where they found 226 grams of cocaine and over $85,000 in Canadian currency.

27-year-old Lydia Sahale Mamo and 25-year-old Salah Abbiahkim Omar have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

Both were scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Grande Prairie on September 19.
