Pedestrian trail under 68 Avenue Bridge closed temporarily

Pedestrians won’t be able to use the trail under the 68 Avenue Bridge for the rest of the month. A 225 metre stretch of asphalt trail is being ripped up and replaced by Reco Construction starting Thursday.

The work is expected to take until the end of September. In the meantime, people who normally take the route should instead use the traffic lights at the Kateri Drive intersection to reach the rest of the Muskoseepi Park trail system.

“The City reminds the public to remain cautious of workers and equipment that may be present in the construction
area and to obey all signage and proceed with caution,” it says in a release. “All construction zones will be signed and barricaded.”

The work is part of the City of Grande Prairie’s 2018 Trail Rehabilitation Program.
