Prevent theft by locking up: RCMP

Peace River residents are being reminded to lock up after two reports of break-ins in the town. The first happened on September 10th, when someone came home to find someone had broken in using a window and had stolen multiple electronics.

Later that night, reports of suspicious activity led Peace Regional RCMP to a home near the downtown core, where officers reportedly found the stolen things. A 20 year old man from Peace River is facing several charges.

“Police would like to thank the public for their vigilance and assistance in reporting suspicious activity and encourage members of the community to continue reporting suspicious sightings to their local detachment,” says Corporal Dave Browne.

The second break-in happened in the early evening hours of September 15th when a homeowner said they saw the man taking their things. The suspect ran off but officers were reportedly able to find him after searching the area.
