AUMA Convention starts today in Edmonton

Members of City Council are in Edmonton today for the start of the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association Convention.

Grande Prairie City Councillor Helen Rice is staying on as AUMA President by acclamation, and says a review of the Municipal Government Act will be one major focus.

Among the updates the Association is looking for is a share of provincial revenues, as well as equitable sharing of revenue between municipalities.

Rice says she’s looking forward to working with recently appointed Municipal Affairs Minister Diana McQueen to create a new provincial/municipal relationship.
