Health workshops coming to Grande Prairie

A series of workshops designed to support residents living with chronic health issues will start this month in the city. Alberta Health Services’ Better Choices, Better Health is a six-week set of workshops where attendees can learn how to make the changes needed to take control of their health.

Topics covered in the weekly workshops will include things like handling pain and fatigue, managing medication, dealing with difficult emotions, eating healthy and getting more physical activity.

A special set of workshops for parents that have children with chronic conditions will be held at the Public Health Centre on Tuesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting on September 25.

Two other sets of workshops will be taking place in the city as well. One will run from September 27 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m at the Public Health Centre and then from November 7 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.
