Grande Prairie under snowfall warning

A snowfall warning has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region. Environment Canada says the rain today is expected to turn into snow tonight.

A total of 10 to 15 centimetres is in the forecast as a cold front moves into the region. However, it’s noted that how much falls will vary significantly based on elevation and the ground temperature. The snow should drop off Wednesday night.

In Grande Prairie, the forecast is calling for five to 10 centimetres of snow that will be heavy at times. Environment Canada reminds drivers to turn their lights on and keep a distance if their visibility is reduced.
