Forest area fire advisory lifted

The fire advisory for the Grande Prairie Forest Area has been lifted. Wildfire information officer Kelly Burke says frequent rain, cool temperatures, light wind and high humidity in the forecast for the weekend and early next week has prompted the decision.

Any requests for burning of heavy fuels will still be assessed on a case-by-case basis. The wildfire danger for the region is moderate.

A fire advisory remains for the County of Grande Prairie.
