RCMP warn of fake cash in the Peace Region

Peace Regional RCMP is reminding local businesses to look closely when accepting cash after they received multiple reports of counterfeit American currency attempting to be used in the Region.

The currency which appeared to be $20 American bills in each case was used between August 12th and August 14th. After inspecting the bills it was confirmed that they were fake.

Passing counterfeit money is a crime. If anyone has any information about these incidents or encounters similar counterfeit bills, contact the Peace Regional RCMP detachment or Crimestoppers.
