Senator Doug Black took time today in the Senate Chamber to congratulate Jim Prentice on becoming Alberta’s 16th Premier.
He told his colleagues that Prentice’s energy, intelligence, and knowledge of Canada will make him a strong leader, and argued his leadership comes as a crucial time for the province.
“There is much to celebrate in Alberta. Alberta is the engine of the Canadian economy. We lead the country on most economic employment, and educational attainment.”
He believes the three biggest challenges facing the new premier will be rebuilding trust in the government, getting market access for energy resources, and the unique labour market.
