Road work along the bypass and near the Prairie Mall will start Monday. Crews will be in the VLA Montrose and Northgate areas throughout the rest of August and September.
Work will be done on 99 Street from 112 Avenue by Canadian Tire to 121 Avenue and 100 Street behind the Prairie Mall, as well as 116 Avenue from 100 Street east to the CN Rail crossing. Because those areas are so busy, most of the work will be done overnight from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m.
The city will be milling the existing road and paving the roads, as well as doing some curb and sidewalk repairs, storm sewer repairs, repainting lines and landscaping. The speed limit in the construction zones will be down to 30 kilometres an hour and drivers are asked to take an alternate route if possible.
