A lightning strike lit an oilfield battery on fire during a storm Wednesday afternoon. The County of Grande Prairie Fire Service responded to the flames on a lease site on Township Road 714 and Range Road 45 between Bezanson and Clairmont at 5:23 p.m.
The County says the fire is contained to the site and private industrial fire control companies are now putting it out.
While they say there is no danger to the public at this time, the public is asked to avoid the area.
