Canada Games Arena bricks ready to be claimed

Bricks used in the construction of the Canada Games Arena in 1995 can now be claimed. The bricks were personalized by families and businesses and donated by the community to help with the building of what’s now known as the H.A. Rice Plaza at Revolution Place.

After enduring 20 years of Grande Prairie weather the bricks were deemed too old to be used and were removed during renovations on the arena in 2017. Most are still intact.

The bricks can be picked up August 14th to 16th between 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Bowes Event Centre. Anyone interested in collecting their brick can call the Revolution Place box office at 780-538-0387. ID is not needed and people can claim on someone else’s behalf.

A list of donors can be found online. Any bricks not claimed will be thrown out.
