RCMP in Grande Prairie has now confirmed a deceased male was found in the backyard of a home on 108th Avenue this morning.
Police were responding to a report of shots fired, and when the first officer approached the home, another shot was fired.
Backup was requested and the area was closed off to the public.
Once the scene was contained, the body was found.
The deceased’s name has not been released, and although the incident is still under investigation, his death is not considered suspicious.
