Free tourism startup seminar coming to GP

A free seminar for entrepreneurs interested in the tourism industry is coming to Grande Prairie. The Alberta government announced Thursday the Tourism Entrepreneurship Startup Seminar will be in the Swan City on August 23rd.

The one-day seminar was run at eight communities in the province earlier this year, and another six dates have been added. Minister of Culture and Tourism Ricardo Miranda says it’s being brought back by popular demand.

“The positive response to the Tourism Entrepreneurship Startup Seminar demonstrates the interest many Albertans have in developing a tourism business. With its combination of strong business fundamentals and expert knowledge, the seminar offers an excellent foundation to help new and would-be tourism entrepreneurs achieve success.”

The province says people who attend the seminar will get free expert advice and information about the opportunities and challenges facing the tourism industry. The goal is to help new businesses get the information and resources they need to launch and succeed.

The Grande Prairie stop will be at the ATB Entrepreneur Centre from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration can be done online.
