Zone 8 wins ASG Spirit of Sport Award

The Alberta Summer Games have officially come to a close. The three day competition wrapped up with the closing awards Sunday afternoon.

On the last day of the event, Alberta Sport Connection Vice-Chair Kelly Blackshaw says the games were everything the organization thought they would be.

“A terrific example of community involvement and commitment, and the athletic competition was as impressive as the level of sportsmanship. We are so pleased with the exceptional job the City and County of Grande Prairie has done. These Games help reinforce the role that sport plays in enhancing the quality of life in our province.”

Zone 8 – Peace Country won the Spirit of Sport Award. The award is given to the zone that best demonstrated the spirit of fair play, sportsmanship, team spirit and cooperation on and off the field of play.
