Another rainfall record set in Grande Prairie

For the second day in a row, a rainfall record has unofficially been set in Grande Prairie. 30 millimetres fell at the local airport on Saturday, beating the previous July 22nd record of 23.2 set in 2012.

On Friday, the city saw 19 millimetres, which was also a record, following 11 millimetres Thursday. Environment Canada is calling for another 10 to 15 millimetres Sunday, with a risk of a thunderstorm early in the evening.

In the meantime, things have calmed down for Peace River, which saw a record 51.6 millimetres of rain fall Friday. Only four millimetres fell in the town Saturday.
