A body believed to be that of a missing two-year-old boy has been found. The remains were found by Peace River RCMP by a construction berm on the Peace River off of 94 Street Thursday.
The location is 220 kilometres away from where the child went missing on Friday, July 6th. He was with his family near the Canfor Bridge along the Wapiti River when he disappeared.
Grande Prairie RCMP say the body has been tentatively identified and is believed to be the missing child. Police say their thoughts are with the family.
Several days of searches by ground, air, and water were done by multiple agencies and volunteers following the boy’s disappearance. Most recently, an RCMP Underwater Recovery Team was brought in for two days of dives.
