UPDATE: Identities of two found dead at home in Atikameg First Nation released

UPDATE: High Prairie RCMP has now identified both the man and woman found dead in a home on the Atikameg First Nation Monday. 83 year old Mary Ann Thunder was found deceased, along with her husband 83 year old Elzear Thunder. RCMP is working with the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s office to determine how and why they died. 

High Prairie RCMP is investigating two deaths at home on the Atikameg First Nation.

Police were called to the scene around 2:30 pm on Monday for complaints of a deceased woman, and were told by witnesses that a man had entered the home with a gun while they were on their way.

Police found 83 year old Mary Ann Thunder in the home, along with a deceased man who has not yet been identified.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Police are asking anyone with information about the deaths to get in tough with the High Prairie detachment or Crime Stoppers.
