Efforts to find missing boy continue Sunday

It’s now been two days since a two-year-old boy disappeared from his family near the Wapiti River at the Canfor Bridge south of Grande Prairie, and the search for him continues. After being suspended at 11 p.m. Saturday night, efforts started up again at 7 a.m. Sunday morning.

RCMP say multiple agencies are working together to look for the child, including Grande Prairie Technical Search and Rescue, Grovedale Fire Rescue, Alberta Fish and Wildlife, and the MD of Greenview, City and County of Grande Prairie. Searches are being done by boat, air and on the ground.

Constable Melanie McIntosh says police would like to thank the public for the outpouring of support the family and search teams have gotten since Friday night. They continue to ask the public to stay away from the area to let emergency services focus on the search.
