Former Storm captain invited to Anaheim Ducks camp

Another hockey player with ties to Grande Prairie has been invited to an NHL development camp. Former GP Storm captain Sasha Larocque is on the roster for the Anaheim Ducks’ annual prospect development camp.

The 24-year-old spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Storm starting in December 2011. He earned an “A” on his jersey the next year and was named the captain for his last with the team.

The defenceman is now an assistant captain on the Ohio State Buckeyes NCAA team, with two goals and seven assists scored last season. The camp gets underway Thursday, and Larocque will be joined by all of Anaheim’s selections from the 2018 NHL Draft.
