The dog that has been on the loose since an attack earlier this month has been found and killed by RCMP. Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, police got a report that a grey and white pit bull was seen in the area of Crystal Landing.
The dog named Nova had been missing since a woman walking her own two dogs was attacked by two others. She ended up in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, and the owner of the attacking dogs suffered minor injuries.
One of the dogs was captured right away, but police and Grande Prairie Enforcement Services have been looking for Nova since. Officers were able to find it in a yard on 103 Avenue and say it was behaving aggressively. It was euthanized and its owners have been notified.
