Dog involved in recent attack still on the lam

A dog involved in an attack earlier this month is still loose. Grande Prairie Enforcement Services says it is actively looking for the tan and white pitbull-type dog, and have enlisted the help of RCMP and Regional Enforcement Services.

A woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries after she was attacked by two dogs from a nearby home in Crystal Landing on June 5th. The owner of the loose dogs also suffered minor injuries. One of the two dogs was found right away.

Sergeant Kelly Kokesch says people have reported seeing a dog with a similar description to the second in the Carriage Lane subdivision in the rural area east of Grande Prairie. Officers are following up on all calls that could be the dog, and have put out live catch traps on the east side of the city.

If anyone comes across a tan and white pitbull-type dog, they shouldn’t approach it or try to catch it. Instead, call 780-830-5790 immediately.
