Motorcyclist killed in crash near Wembley

Beaverlodge RCMP have confirmed a motorcyclist was killed in a crash near Wembley Saturday night. Police were called to a collision between a pickup truck and the bike in the area of Highway 724 and Township Road 722 around 10 p.m.

A 43 year old man from Grande Prairie was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin has been notified and the deceased’s identity is not being released. The driver of the pickup was not injured.

Police say their initial investigation has shown that the truck was heading north and turned left in front of the motorcycle as it went south. An RCMP collision analyst from Peace River was called in to help with the investigation, which is still underway.

No further details have been made public. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Beaverlodge RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
