City lifts gravel road ban

The City of Grande Prairie has lifted its road ban. All gravel roads in the city have been at 50 per cent axle weight from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily since April 9th.

Road bans are typically used during the spring to protect gravel roads from heavy traffic as the snow melts.

“The City thanks residents and commuters who abided by the gravel road bans and aided in protecting the integrity of our gravel road network,” it says in a release.

The County of Grande Prairie’s road ban was lifted on June 1st. All roads are at 100 per cent axle weight until further notice.
