City launches second round of Transportation Master Plan consultation

The city has launched the second phase of their Transportation Master Plan consultation. It’s the second of three rounds of public engagement sessions and surveys related to the project.

The first round of consultations was held in January. The city says at that time people weighed in with their ideas for “transportation network options” including ways to improve safety and reduce congestion. The city says ideas for sustainable transit options like bike lanes and pathways were brought forward as well.

The plan itself is used to guide the city’s approach to how they help move people around Grande Prairie. It doesn’t only take public transit options into account, it also includes the needs of those who get around by foot, car or bike. The last time the Transportation Master Plan was updated was 2009.

The city will host an open house June 20, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Teresa Sargent Hall in the Montrose Cultural Centre. An online survey is also available to residents until July 3, 2018.
