New trial date set for Snider homicide suspect

The trial for a man accused in the 2015 homicide of Adrian Snider won’t happen until late next year. Patrick Decque’s trial on manslaughter and accessory to murder charges will be held in Grande Prairie from November 12 to December 6, 2019.

A trial had been planned for this June, but after Decque dismissed his lawyer in April, the dates were released and he waived his right to a timely trial. In court this week, earlier trial dates in 2019 were also given up, as Crown prosecutor Photini Papadatou says his new lawyer was not available.

Decque is one of four people charged in connection with 25 year old Snider’s death. The Grande Prairie man was originally charged with murder, and was arrested a few days before Sniders remains were found in a rural area outside of the city on May 4, 2015.

His brother Dominic Decque was recently sentenced to eight years in prison for his role in the killing, while accomplice Tommy Paul was sentenced to 7.5 years. Courtney McQuinn is charged with accessory after the fact to murder, and will be back in court in August.
